Health care coverage is one of the primary concerns most families have today. Some cannot live without a health insurance while the others cannot afford it. Having a health insurance or any type of health care plan eases the financial burden during emergencies. Individuals who need constant checkups and medications can get many benefits in having a health insurance plan. Still, if for some reason these individuals lose their health insurance, there are still ways to get good health care coverage. If you used to be employed and have already used up your COBRA, you may continue your consultation with your previous health insurance plan’s doctor. You can try to work out payment schemes with the doctor’s office and help reduce costs for services that used to be part of your previous health care coverage. Some doctors may even give you prescription drug samples. You also have an option to keep or get at least a catastrophic insurance. Even if you need regular medical assistance, the doctor’s visits may be cheaper on the pocket than an emergency. You will never know when you might need your catastrophic insurance. Unepected need for medical care poses a big problem if you haven’t allotted money or have enough savings for that. There are also short-term medical health care plans that can last for a month or even for four months. Some states provide this type of health insurance plan. If you are looking at obtaining a group health plan in your future employment, short-term medical health care plans may be more helpful than not having one at all.
