Does Humana One health insurance cover vaccine shots?

I will soon be entering college and I need vaccine shots before I do. I learned that these shots cost almost $100 each. A friend recommended the basic plan of Humana One health insurance. Do they cover vaccine shots? How much does each shot cost?

It is better if you read more about the basic plan of Human One health insurance before you sign up for them. But most health insurance plans do not cover immunizations for adults. Also, if you sign up for a new health plan, you need to wait a while before the plan covers your pre-eisting conditions. Your vaccine shots may be considered part of your pre-eisting conditions, but that will depend on Humana's policy and waiting periods, or if they even cover this. Pre-eisting conditions are illnesses that you already have before signing up for the health plan. Requirements for these illnesses are also considered part of our pre-eisting conditions. Although immunizations aren't considered an illness per say, but it could be classified as something you need medical attention for at the time of applying. The waiting period for the plan to cover pre-eisting conditions usually lasts for si months. This means that after you sign up for the health plan, you need to wait for si months before the insurance covers your immunizations and any other pre-eisting conditions that you have. This would be the same with Humana, or any other insurance company. Most health insurance companies are very particular as regards pre-eisting conditions. You thus need to inform the health insurance company of your pre-eisting conditions before you sign up for their plan. Otherwise, they can cancel your insurance anytime if they find out that you have been remissed in detailing such information. So if you apply for Humana, make sure you tell them on the application that you are in need of immunizations so there won't be any problems later on. To minimize cost, it might be more practical if you inquire about the vaccine shots you need from health departments. They usually offer some immunizations at a lower cost. You don't need to have Humana or any other insurance company to use their clinics. Answer by admin — May 22, 2009 @ 11:10 am
