Humana insurance is currently offering three options for Medicare Advantage (MA) plans. These are usually open for retirees or those who are already enrolled in Medicare. You can choose from Private-Fee-for-Service (PFFS), Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), and Preferred Provider Organization (PPO). In some states, PFFS has low or no premium but includes prescription drugs and etra benefits not offered through Original Medicare. However, you may have to spend in co-pays and coinsurance but it is much lesser than you would have to pay on other Medicare Supplement premiums. Humana insurance PFFS can be used with any doctor of your choice regardless if they are a member of Humana insurance or not. This plan also includes prescription drugs for seniors. The HMO plan works with a member-doctor and you have the liberty to change doctors should the need arise. But physician to physician referrals may not be applicable in some states. This HMO plan of Humana insurance offers low copayments on doctor’s consultations and covers most annual physical eamination. PPO plan is almost similar with PFFS because it can be used with other doctors and at a discounted price with member-doctors. This plan of Humana insurance also set a fied amount on copayments and coinsurance. There are also some factors to consider when choosing a Humana insurance supplementplan such as age, cost, and state of your health. If you are physically fit and rarely need medical assistance, MA may be a good option. But if you think that you would need to regularly visit the doctor, it is advisable to opt for Medicare Supplement to maimize its benefits.
