Your COBRA insurance is the right to remain insured under your previous employer's group health plan for a specific period of time. If they change insurance carriers, so do you. Your previous employer, as well as the new insurance carrier, are obligated to inform you of this change. You need to first contact Aetna and verify your coverage. If this employer has cancelled the coverage, you should have been notified by Aetna. It is possible that the employer has coverage with more than one insurance company to provide employees with an option of carriers. If this is the case, you can remain on the Aetna plan. - Friday, January 22, 2010 @ 11:55 am
