I and my husband are looking for a health insurance in Florida…

I and my husband are looking for a health insurance in Florida. My 32-year-old husband has an inherited high cholesterol condition which he maintains through diet and eercise. We are currently uninsured since both of our employers neither provide health insurance. We recently applied for a health insurance but my husband was denied coverage because he is not undergoing any treatment for his condition. Because of this we settle for my husband’s treatment to start soon. Is there a health insurance in Florida that provides major medical coverage and allows someone with pre-eisting condition and a history of insurance coverage denial?

In general, health insurance in Florida decline applications for people with pre-eisting health condition especially the ones who are considered as risk factors for a major disease.  Usually for some insurance companies, having a cholesterol problem is an automatic denial regardless of whether it is being treated or not since this is considered as a risk factor for a heart disease.  Moreover, for those health insurance companies in Florida that permit pre-eisting conditions would only offer some sort of a benefit discount that ranges from 25% to 50% for that particular health condition. You may consider hiring the assistance of a reputable Health Insurance Broker in negotiating for a best deal of health insurance in Florida. You may also include a prescription rider in your husband's policy especially for his condition. Prescription coverage in his health insurance is very important since this is a precautionary measure in case of an emergency. - June 3, 2009 @ 3:16 pm
