There are a lot of health insurance companies that you can choose from besides those offered through Coventry Health Care. You can even ask your friends if they can recommend one that they are happy with. It is better if you can consult with someone who has had eperience in processing claims with the insurance company. They may provide you with contacts to their insurers or agents that can eplain their different heath plans. If you are employed, you may inquire about other health insurance companies from your company's HR department. Some employers offer choices from more than one each company, so they might have Coventry and something else. They usually have a list of these companies. Try to check if the company you plan to sign up for covers the medical epenses that your company health insurance does not cover. It is not easy to choose the right health policy or plan if you decide to look one on your own. But before you sign up for one, make sure to check if the coverage of the health insurance plan is sufficient for you, and if you can afford the monthly premiums and deductibles. If the plan has high monthly premiums, then the deductibles are usually lower. If you prefer lower monthly premiums, they usually have high deductibles. In this case, make sure you have enough savings to pay for the high deductibles. Your premium with Coventry does not sound that epensive to me because I pay over $500 for my health insurance, but it's not with Coventry Also, try to consider the co-pay amount, the co-pay amount for prescriptions, the maimum cost for a hospital stay, vision coverage, dental coverage, required payment for emergencies, and choice of doctors or medical specialists. A more practical option for you is to go to local and independent agents. They are in a better position to eplain the plan coverage and benefits. They can even give you quotes for plans with high monthly premiums and low deductibles, or low monthly premiums with high deductibles, whichever you can afford. — May 22, 2009 @ 11:19 am
