In the state of Iowa, is Plan G considered guaranteed issue?

My advantage plan is not being offered in my county next year so am looking at Plan G. The insurance company tells me Plan G is not considered guaranteed issue in Iowa. I would like to make sure that is correct.

Yes, that's correct. Plan G is not one of the 'guaranteed issue' plans. This actually applies nationwide (in all but 2-3 states) not just in Iowa. When lose an Advantage plan, you have 'guaranteed issue' into plans like F or N but not G. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Rates for Plan G (or any other plans) vary considerably (for equal coverage), so you should make sure to compare the different companies to ensure you are getting the best deal on the plan you want.
