Most retirees are unaware of the limitations of Medicare health coverage. If you are a retiree, you are usually required to have co-payments or meet deductibles before Medicare pays for your medical epenses. Traditional Medicare also does not cover epenses for prescribed medications. You might want to buy a supplemental medical insurance policy. Once such policy is Medigap. It is designed to address the limitations of Medicare health coverage. Medigap health plans usually pay most of the Medicare coinsurance. Some of its plans also cover deductibles and services for preventive care and prescribed medications that are not covered by Medicare. Medigap health policies are sold through private health insurance companies. Federal law standardizes and regulates the provisions in Medigap's 10 health policy options. Each health policy covers specific medical services. Try to find the best Medigap premiums as they differ among health insurance companies. Answer by admin — May 25, 2009 @ 1:22 pm
