The application form will most likely reveal or at least lead the health insurance provider as to your current health condition and medical history. You may say that you are physically fit and relatively healthy but there are questions about the last time you sought medical help. Consequently, this may allow the health insurance provider to ask for your “latest” medical records. Sometimes, they would go directly to your doctor. In the event that you are able to keep your pre-eisting condition from your health insurance provider a secret, they may be able to find this out in your first insurance claim. Health care professionals normally use a claim form where you indicate the first date of diagnosis of your condition. Naturally, it will appear in your doctor's records which the health insurance provider may request. There is a likelihood that the information you may have concealed from the health insurance provider may come out during the underwriting process. You may have already given the health insurance provider permission to check on any and/or all of your medical records when you applied for a health insurance. If you were successful in keeping that information from the health insurance provider and they may later find this out, you will most likely be liable to pay back your claims to them.
