Looking to get health insurance for myself and my significant other…

I am looking to get insurance for 2 people; myself and my significant other. We are not married, but we live under the same roof and he a student and my dependent financially. I have claimed him on my taes for the last 2 years and I am his sole support. So my question is are able to purchase insurance together as spouses or are we required to purchase separately? I would prefer one bill that is why I am asking.

Thank you for your inquiry. In the state of California, all insurance companies offering Individuals must allow domestic partners to be insured jointly on the same policy. I am assuming that if you have included your significant other on your ta returns that you are registered domestic partners. If not, then you will need to purchase two separate health plans and receive two separate bills. — June 11, 2009 @ 10:19 pm
