Let us first make sure we fully understand what you are asking by recapping. You and your family are currently insured under a group health plan through your place of employment. You have been notified by your employer that they are switching insurance companies and they are no longer providing coverage for your dependents. Is this correct? If so, we need a little more information: 1) In which state do you reside? 2) Is your group coverage written in the same state, or is your company located outside of your state of residence? 3) How long have you and your family been covered under this current health plan? 4) Is this new insurance company not providing you with the option to add dependents to your coverage, even if you pay for pay for the premium? Sometimes, an employer may tell you that they are no longer paying for the premium to include dependents, but this does not necessarily mean you can't include them on your policy. You may be able to do so, but at your epense.
