My group insurance stopped covering spouse

We received a letter giving us just over a month's notice from my employer that they will no longer be insuring spouses through BCBS. (letter states BCBS is doing this). My spouse is self employed with no employees. He has previously been denied (4 years ago) for insurance due to heart problems. What can we do? We live in Illinois
