Need to keep home insurance while living abroad temporarily?
My husband and I are planning to move to Europe for six months. We pay out-of-pocket for his health insurance (not very cheap) and my coverage will end in a few months. We need to purchase insurance there for visa purposes. Should we also continue to pay for his plan here, and also pay for a plan for me here while we're gone? The insurance plan my husband has does not include international coverage. Our concern is whether we will have a harder time getting coverage when we return, especially if problems arise while we're gone. (Not anticipated, but always possible.)
