If you're in a pinch because your Medicare's long-term care is running out and you don't qualify for Medicaid, there are several options you can consider taking for your senior health insurance. There are a lot of health insurance plans available to seniors out there; and you just need to know which plan will work best for you. In case you're still working and you're 55 years old, you're probably already covered in your company's Small Business. This is probably the best way for a senior citizen to get insured since Small Business plans usually work across the board, and insurance companies forego medical eaminations and pre-eisting conditions, among other things. The net thing you can check out is whether your employer's retirement package includes a health plan for you. If not, I think you should try and get coverage from organizations that offer health plans as membership benefits. I'm assuming the reason you didn't qualify for Medicaid is you still have assets. If that's the case, you can try other options like joining AARP or eploring other affordable health care services provided by the government to get senior health insurance. - July 3, 2009 @ 4:06 pm
