Went to doctor and pharmacy found out company insurance has been cancelled

I contracted a bacterial infection from my place of work, I went to the doctor 2 times. received medication the second time. When I went to the pharmacy the pharmisist informed me my insurance card was no good. I paid the bill for medication and went home to contact the insurance company who informed me my insurance provided by my employer has been cancelled.
When I went to work I went to the HR department who informed me that the insurance was not cancelled but the company had not paid the bill yet. She informed me my insurance was good and valid but my provider stated that my insurance has been cancelled for the past 2 months. What should I do?

If you have not resolved this situation, your statement of contracting the bacterial infection from work leads me to believe you should be filing this as a workers compensation claim, rather than through your employee medical coverage. Your doctor must have asked if this was a work related claim. If you answered yes, I'd suggest you request work comp claim forms in writing, perhaps via e-mail, so you have a written record of the request.
