Where can I find options for personal health insurance plans?

I live in Indiana and was recently laid off from work due to company cutbacks. Since my personal insurance also ended with my job, I would like to buy a health insurance plan to cover any medical problems that I might have in the future. Where can I find options for personal health insurance plans? What should I look for in a personal insurance before buying one?

There are a lot of personal health insurance plans available in the market today. To buy one, you can consult with an insurance broker or agent, or browse the Internet to learn more about the personal insurance plans offered by different health insurance companies. Buying a personal health insurance plan online is an option you can take. However, this requires a thorough understanding of the language of the insurance industry. It might be difficult for you to learn more about the plan if you cannot understand the different terms and the language that is used. The Internet can only help you get acquainted with the different personal insurance plans through the basic information and the health insurance quotes that their websites usually provide. There is much more to health insurance than the information presented in the Internet. It might be best if you consult with an insurance broker or agent, or someone you trust who knows enough about the business. Eventually, your basis for buying a personal health insurance is the price of the plan. How much can you afford to pay every month for your personal health insurance? If you want to include coverage for doctors’ visits, medications, preventive care, maternity coverage, and low deductible and copays, then your monthly premiums might either be high or low depending on the provisions of the plan for these benefits. If you are generally healthy, then you can opt for a plan that will only cover any major medical problems that you might have in the future. In this case, your personal insurance may only require low monthly premiums. Any savings that you will have may be used to pay for occasional doctors’ visits. There is also the option for temporary health insurance. This is a type of personal insurance that you can buy while you are unemployed, and if you are planning to get another job that offers healthcare benefits. Your choice of personal health insurance will be largely based on your budget and health conditions. Consult with an insurance agent. They can readily answer any questions you might have on what the personal insurance covers. They can eplain deductibles, copays, and how the network of accredited hospitals and doctors works. You can use the Internet to find the personal health insurance plans available in the market. However, work with an insurance agent if you are already going to buy one. - June 19, 2009 @ 12:15 pm
